Karl’s Story - Level 1
I come from Berlin, in Germany. In Germany I was a student at the university. One day in 1995 I met an Australian girl called Kylie. She was on holiday in Berlin and we fell in love. I came back to Australia with her. Now we’re married and we live in Melbourne.
In Melbourne, I wanted to go back to university. I studied English at school in Germany for 6 years, but my English wasn’t very good. So I started a Certificate 3 English class at Springvale AMES. In this class there were many other students who wanted to go to university in Australia. Every afternoon after my class I went to the Individual Learning Centre. I used the books, computer programs, cassettes and videos to improve my English. I also learnt to type and to use a computer.
Now I am studying Accounting at a TAFE College. It’s not easy, and I still need more English. At night, I still go to my English class at Springvale AMES.
